How do I use the Strike API?

Using the Strike API allows you to seamlessly integrate Bitcoin and Lightning payments into your application. To begin, you'll need to follow these steps to fill out the onboarding form to sign up and create your account.

Once onboarded, you can log in to your Strike Dashboard to generate your API keys. You can assign specific permissions (scopes) to each key, controlling access to different parts of the API. Be sure to keep your API keys secure and manage them effectively within your Dashboard.

Using your API keys:

Once you have created an API keys, you can use that key to interact with the Strike API:

  • Authorize requests: Include your API key as a bearer token in the authorization header of your API requests. Your API key is associated with your Strike account, letting you programmatically make transactions
  • API Explorer: The API Explorer is located on the right-hand side of each API Reference endpoint’s page. By inputting your API key bearer token in the Authorize field, you can make API requests directly within your web browser, but please be aware that transact using your actual account balances.
  • Sandbox environment: For testing purposes, utilize the API sandbox environment, which simulates cash amounts and uses testnet bitcoin transactions.
